Welcome!

Hello, I am multiracial, queer, interdisciplinary artist and designer studying Performance Studies and Studio Art. Through my work, I untangle the false binary between theory and practice refusing the subjugation of the latter to the former. I am invested in the art of design, centering otherwise possibilities, and decentering whiteness. My goal is to move beyond the politics of representation, refusing to make my identity or the identity of others into a spectacle for passive consumption. I am ready to learn, unlearn, and relearn. You can reach me at madeline.tachibana@tufts.edu.

The image on the left is the Tachibana family mon, a Japanese family symbol similar to a family crest.
